What is ‘Humans Leading?’

Hey there, I’m Dr. Jillian Bybee, and I write Humans Leading.

I’m a human who wears a lot of hats in my professional life: pediatric critical care medicine physician, leader, wellness director, educator, and coach. I’m also a wife, mother, amateur chef, and book lover.

As a person who has experienced burnout twice, I’ve spent years discovering how to find a saner way to live and work, a process that has come with a lot of unlearning of internalized cultural messages about success.

I write bite-sized content that doesn’t require a big time commitment because I understand how challenging it can be to carve out time for yourself and because small commitments of time can add up to big changes in our lives over time.

Why ‘Humans Leading’?

I started writing Humans Leading as a way to make sense of my own experience, to grow, and to connect with people like you who are looking to positively impact your own lives. The name of this newsletter reminds me (and others) that we are not superheroes. We need and deserve rest, joy, and time away.

Who is it for?

Humans Leading is for busy, growth-oriented humans who are looking for strategies to have more joy and less overwhelm in their lives. I have been blown away by the responses to this newsletter. Each piece of feedback that I get touches my heart and gives me energy to keep writing.

Since Humans Leading is a labor of love for me that I do on the side of my day job(s), posts come out when inspiration strikes and time in my schedule allows (usually 2-4 per month).
